The "Striving and Transforming - The History of Hong Kong Industry" exhibition, running at the Hong Kong Museum of History until August 24, showcases the illustrious history of Hong Kong industry, with some 1,200 sets of classic Hong Kong-made products. Visitors can learn how Hong Kong industry germinated in the early 20th century with the emergence of light industries; how after WW II, the city transformed from an entrepot to an export-oriented industrial economy that led the world in export volume; how "Made in Hong Kong" became an internationally recognised brand in the 1970s; how the city remained a base for decision making, product design and promotion when manufacturing shifted to the Mainland, and how Hong Kong is now exploring new possibilities in high-technology and creative industries.
