HSBC celebrates 150th anniversary

Description
The venerable Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC) is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. Every night for the rest of 2015, a light show at the bank's Hong Kong headquarters will narrate the institution's rich story and how it is linked with Hong Kong's fortunes. A cast-bronze sculpture in the shape of a rice grain at the iconic building represents the bank's supportive role in international trade. The bank will issue a special commemorative HK$150 bank note tomorrow (March 5). Financial Secretary John C Tsang officiated at the launch ceremony.
